Summary:  A young boy is large and colorful as he gets ready for his first day of kindergarten while his mom stands small and blue (sad, yes, but in this case actually blue in color). While the text tells of her worries and his enthusiasm, the amazing illustrations show mom gradually regaining her confidence, her color, and her size. Until he mentions riding the bus...

Classroom Ideas: This would be a perfect book to read on the first day of kindergarten, but it would also work as a great character study.
