Summary: A biography of Galileo Galilei: "A book depicting the life of a famous scientist, mathematician, astronomer, philosopher, physicist" In this straight forward account of Galilei's life and accomplishments, Sis is able to speak to young readers and explain the enormity of the scientist's discoveries and the punishment he received for his bravery. The illustrations are beautifully based classic map styles with 17th century symbols and images. The quotations from Galilei's own writings are reproduces in calligraphy for more sophisticated readers.
